Mini Muckshift Ltd is the largest independent compact equipment hire specialist in North Wales. With the ability to carry out and project manage construction projects up to £150K. Mini Muckshift Ltd was formed in 1987 by Thomas Jones being a family business based in Llanddulas. Thomas Jones was 1st to offer compact plant machinery to private and commercial customers in North Wales. Thomas Jones started with one machine and a trailer he made himself. Which he used, to transport the machine from job to job. From there the business grew.

Mini Muckshift Ltd turnover and size increased year on year. Becoming a well known name in construction on the North Wales Coast. The business has always achieved high quality values. From machine cleanliness to customer satisfaction. Every customer is treated the same no matter what the size of the bill.

Mini Muckshift Ltd has struggled over the years fighting for business. In 1990 there were approx 5-10 other similar customers operating on the North Wales Coast. In 2008 our competition has grown to over 50.

The price of hiring a 1.5 ton excavator for 1 day, has stayed the same since Mini Muckshift Ltd was formed in 1987. This is due to increased competition driving prices down.

In 2005 we expanded on our small ground works aspect of the business. Employing two men full time to undertake a variety of construction work. In 2005 Mini Muckshift became a Limited Company. Thomas Jones was Managing director. David Jones (son) became company secretary and Gareth Jones (son) became a Director.

David was a Project Engineer for a large Specialist Corrosion Company at the time. Gareth was a Senior Civil Engineer working on a £650 million project in Birmingham.
Gareth joined Mini Muckshift Ltd in its 20th year. In his 1st year we increased turnover at Mini Muckshift Ltd by 48% .

Mini Muckshift Ltd continued to grow further with addition of our new sector of the business Mobile Mini Crushing Services. We recycle on site the customer’s construction waste. This saves the customer on skips and importing new stone. The items can also be hired out self drive with full operating instructions.

In July 2007 we opened our hydraulic hose repair centre at our yard in St Asaph. A drop in centre for hose repairs. We can now offer discount repair service to all our customers.

The Future at Mini Muckshift Ltd?

Mini Crushing
We have are continuing to expand and re-educate existing customers on the benefits of onsite recycling. Mini Muckshift Ltd is to be at the fore front of onsite waste recycling in North Wales. We want to help promote the cost savings available for all contractors and builders, small or large.

Groundworks
We are to expand our ground works business with the addition of another gang. Due to the increased work load from a recent project award. Ongoing maintenance works will require additional resources. Thus possibly creating further jobs

White Line Removal
We have recently become an approved contractor for Prismo Road Markings Ltd. They operate all over the UK and are the largest white lining contractor in the UK. We will be providing night shift crews to remove white lines off the motorways all over the North West and North Wales.

Federation of Master Builders
In August 2008 we were also accredited by the Federation of Master Builders and the European Builders Confederation. This will allows us to offer 10 Year peace of mind Guarantee on all our work.

The future is bright from Mini Muckshift Ltd and all its dedicated staff. The hard work from Tom 21 years ago is finally paying off today.
